HBO recently released a series based on the hit video game called The Last of Us. The show follows Ellie played by Bella Ramsey, and Joel played by Pedro Pascal as they try to navigate their new zombie-infested world and discover why Ellie is immune to the virus that caused humans to become infected. The first season of the show was completed on March 12th with 9 episodes, the show’s premiere episode grossed over 4.7 million viewers on the first night alone. The last episode then brought in over 8.2 million viewers, increasing by 75% over the course of the season.

The show’s conclusion also brought in many different reviewers and critics, though both professionals and regular viewers had good things to say about the show. The Last of Us received an 8.9/10 on IMDB and a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. It also had an overall audience rating of 4.5/5 stars according to Google Reviews. The show seems to be accepted by all audiences and many of the actors have spoken about the bonds that they formed with their cast members while working on the show.

One thing I like about the show is that you don’t have to play the games to know what’s happening. I’m in love with the video game series and think that HBO has done a fabulous job adapting the show and the story. One thing about The Last of Us is that it’s not just a zombie apocalypse story. You get to see all kinds of things, like the conflict of Ellie’s immunity, Joel and Ellie’s father-daughter-like relationship, and many other exciting funny characters in this otherwise very dark show.
