Donuts are a fan favorite, but I realized that most people don’t know how to make them at home. I found you guys an easy and delicious donut recipe!
Ingredients:
- 2 ½ tsp active dry yeast
- 2 tbsp warm water
- 2 ½ tbsp granulated sugar
- 3 ¼ cups all purpose flour
- 1 cup warm whole milk
- 2 oz unsalted butter (room temp)
- 3 large egg yolks
For the yeast: Stir 2 tbsp of warm water, ½ tsp sugar, and 2 ½ tsp of yeast together, and leave to rise for 5-10 minutes.
For the dough: Mix 3 ¼ cups of flour, 1 cup of warm milk, 2 oz of room temp butter, 3 egg yolks, 2 tbsp sugar, ¼ tsp salt, and the yeast together
Making the donuts: Cut the dough out and shape your donuts. Cover them for about 45-60 mins to rise. Heat oil in a pan, to 350F, drop the donuts in for about 1-2 minutes a side, until golden brown. Once they’re cool, top them with whatever you like, and I suggest powdered sugar or frosting.
Enjoy!
