With the fall weather comes the 2022 Blazers fall sports updates!! The Blazers worked hard throughout the summer and are now in the middle of a fantastic fall season. Blazer fans have witnessed some great matches and games including Volleyball’s big win against Beaumont, the Tennis team’s defeat of Hawken, and Blazer Field Hockey’s domination of Kent. If you haven’t gotten the chance to make it to any games or want to read more about the victories of your favorite blazer teams, here are some updates for each fall sport!
Field Hockey

Led by three new captains, Marin Mondora (junior), Allie Beros (junior), and Frances Berglund (junior), the Field Hockey team has a 3-6-1 record on the year. In addition to new captains, the Blazer’s also have a new coaching staff. You can come support the Blazer field hockey team on October 6th at WRA. If you can’t make the drive to an away game, you can watch them take on Orange at home, on October 10th. Good luck field hockey!
Cross Country

The cross country team has 2 meets left in the regular season! The team has had 5 successful meets so far this season, including Boardman, Riverside, and the Tiffin overnight meet. Captains Marianna (senior), Elena (senior), and Grace (junior) have helped the team stay strong despite injuries and hard days! Good luck to the cross country team at their last few races. 🏃🏽♀️
Tennis


Tennis is in the middle of another successful season. Varsity A has a record of 10-2 with wins against Hawken, Perry, Solon and many more. They will be playing Orange soon in the Semi finals of the OTCA bracket to go to states. Varsity B celebrated a big win this past weekend at the Mags Doubles tournament! Lastly, JV won their match against Twinsburg last week and will be playing Westlake, Hawken, and Mayfield this coming week. Be sure to wish the tennis teams the best of luck in the rest of their season and postseason.
Volleyball

One of the highlights of the volleyball season was their victory over HB volleyball’s biggest rival Beaumont. Recently, the team played Lake Catholic and Kirtand. The team will take on Orange and Laurel in the first week of October. They also enjoyed an entertaining Adam Sandler themed practice (as shown above).
Golf

The regular season is over for the Blazer golf team! Their first postseason tournament is this Friday (September 30th) at Fox Den! During the season, varsity won all but one match and JV went undefeated at all of their matches. Congrats on a great season! ⛳
Soccer

The soccer team has had a great first half of their season! With a record of 3-7-4 they have tied in their games against Western Reserve Academy and West Geauga and won against both Berea and Berea-Midpark. Coming up this week the team will play Riverside and next week they will take on North Royalton. Both games will be at home. Good luck to the soccer team this week!
