Hi, high school!  Valentine’s day is almost upon us, which means time for some romantic Taylor Swift songs!  I sent out a survey for peoples’ opinions on the most romantic Taylor Swift song in each of her fabulous albums.  Taylor is not only known for her fabulous revenge songs, but also for her romantic love songs, so here are the results!

For Taylor Swift (Taylor’s first album) most of our voters decided that “Our song” was the most romantic song on the album.  It is one of my personal favorites on this album and I think it is a great song for Valentines day.  Whether you are going to play this beloved country song for a significant other, or sing it with your friends on Galentine, it is definitely a must-listen this season.

For Red (Taylors version) many of our voters were torn between “everything has changed” and “message in a bottle”.  Both are very good songs, but if I had to choose I would pick “everything has changed”.  It is such a beautiful song and the lyrics are so cute: “Come back and tell me why.  I’m feelin’ like I’ve missed you all this time.  And meet me there tonight.  And let me know that it’s not all in my mind”.

For 1989 you guys voted “You are in love”, which is another one of my personal favorite songs.  The song is in second person and is definitely a perfect song to play for your boyfriend or girlfriend.  Taylor wrote this song about her two friends who are in love, which I think is very adorable.  This song is definitely special and is the perfect song for valentines day.

The most voted song for Fearless (Taylors version) was “Fearless”, which I completely agree with.  It is a song about fearlessly falling in love.  Taylor said about this album and song that, “I think sometimes when you’re writing love songs, you don’t write about what you’re going through at the moment, you write about what you wish you had. So, this song is about the best first date I haven’t had yet.”  This song is so beautiful and one of the best on this album (although Jump then Fall is my personal favorite)

For Speak Now, “Long live” was voted the most romantic.  “Long live” is almost like a fairy tale story about past lovers and their adventures.  This song is so adorable and is definitely one of everyones favorites.  One of my favorite lyrics is, “Will you take a moment, Promise me this, That you’ll stand by me forever, But if God forbid fate should step in, And force us into a goodbye, If you have children someday, When they point to the pictures, Please tell them my name.”  The bridge of this song is so romantic and beautiful, everyone should listen this valentines day.

For Taylors album, Lover, of course “Lover” was voted the most romantic song for valentines day.  Although “Paper rings” is my favorite romance song on this album, I have to agree that “Lover” is a great choice.  Taylor is actually the only one who wrote this song, along with a bit of help from Jack Antonoff, her co-producer.

For Reputation, “Call it what you want” was voted most romantic.  I 100% agree with this opinion, it is definitely perfect for valentines day.  Taylor wrote, “My baby’s fit like a daydream

Walking with his head down.  I’m the one he’s walking to, So call it what you want, yeah, call it what you want to.  My baby’s fly like a jet stream, High above the whole scene.  Loves me like I’m brand new.”  “Call it what you want” is the perfect Taylor Swift song to play for your lover this valentines day!

For Folklore, our voters picked “Invisible string” as the perfect song for Valentines day.  I first heard about this song, late July of 2021 and it has been my favorite on this album ever since.  Taylor wrote, “And isn’t it just so pretty to think, All along there was some, Invisible string.  Tying you to me?”  This song is so beautiful and perfect and can even be played for your best friend this valentine’s day to show how happy you are that you’ve met them.

Lastly, for Evermore our voters picked “Gold rush” as the most romantic song.  Even though I personally think “Long story short” is the most romantic, I can see how our voters picked “Gold rush”.  These song lyrics are very relatable: “I don’t like anticipating my face in a red flush.  I don’t like that anyone would die to feel your touch, Everybody wants you, Everybody

wonders what it would be like to love you.  Walk past, quick brush, I don’t like slow motion double

vision in rose blush, I don’t like that falling feels like flying ’til the bone crush.  Everybody wants you.”  It is obvious Taylor understands what we are all going through.

Hopefully, you enjoyed these statistics and happy valentines day! 🙂
