Nothing is worse than waking up realizing that you only have 5 minutes before you have to leave your house to go to school. It’s even worse when you have a bus to catch or your parents are yelling to hurry up. So, how do you avoid situations like these?
- Pack your bag the night before
Make sure you have all of your belongings ready the night before school so you don’t forget anything. If you are someone who always forgets something at home, (it’s okay it happens to me almost every day) then make a checklist of everything you need, like your phone, computer, or id badge.
- Reset your sleep schedule
I know it’s hard to set your phone down after endless hours of scrolling through Tiktok, but seriously, don’t use your phone at least 1 hour before you go to bed. Dim the lights in your room and read a book before you go to bed, it’s very relaxing. If you want to make it a goal to wake up earlier, set your alarm back 10 minutes every day. If you wake up at 6:30 every morning, set your alarm to 6:20 the next night. The change isn’t much, but soon you will get used to waking up earlier.
- Pick out your outfits for the week on Sunday
If you’re incredibly indecisive when it comes to your outfits, set aside time on Sundays to pick out what outfits you’re going to wear for that week. Keep in mind what the weather is going to be like, and make sure to dress in layers in case you get hot or cold during the school day.
- Find something to do in the morning that you enjoy
Whether it’s meditating or making a cup of iced coffee, do something you like in the morning. This will give you a reason to be happy to wake up in the morning. I recommend listening to music, it’s one of the first things I do when I wake up.
There is always going to be a day where you want to sleep in, but incorporating a few of these ideas into your life will help you get to school before the bell rings 🙂
