If you are in the hybrid learning model at HB, you have probably been at school already. Needless to say, things have changed. Lets start with the most obvious change: construction. The school is essentially a construction site now, which honestly, I don’t mind. What I do mind is the parking situation. Trucks and equipment dominate the senior lot and the street closest to the gym entrance. Also, I heard that the senior lot is not longer for seniors, but don’t quote me on that. The next huge change is the staircases. Certain stairs are only for going up or down. I wouldn’t ask any student, or really any teacher, because the general consensus has been “I’m not sure if you can go up these stairs, but I doubt anyone will stop you.” I truly do not understand the staircases because everyone is then forced to use the same ones to go upstairs. In my opinion, it creates more chaos and forces people closer together. Next is the cafeteria. Tables are limited to two to four people and lunches are in brown bags for the first two weeks. I understand the safety issues, but it is quite sad to see teachers and students sitting alone at lunch. The overall situation, given the circumstances, is good. It’s clear HB is working hard to keep us safe and doing everything they can to help us, but it is hard not to complain if you are a senior. Life is just going to be hard right now, but it’s nice to know we are all in this together. To make is suck a little bit less, when you park, don’t leave a mile between you and the car in front of you.

With much love,

Eleina
