Tom Holland, a popular and beloved actor, has recently arrived in northeast Ohio to film his latest movie “Cherry”. The actor is widely famous for his appearances in the Marvel movies as Spider-Man, but this time he stars in an upcoming movie playing a very different and unique character.

Tom Holland was born on June 1, 1996 in Kingston upon Thames, England, UK. As a child, Tom was highly passionate about dance and he originally started out as a hip-hop dancer in Wimbledon, London. However, as years passed he began to immerse himself in the world of theater as well. The actor’s breakout role was in The Impossible in 2012, as he played an adolescent who cares for his injured mother while searching for his missing father. The role that gives Tom his stardom today, however, is the adored role of Spider-Man in multiple Marvel movies. He made his debut as the character in 2016 as he appeared in “Captain America: Civil War,” and later made many other contributions to the booming franchise.

Instead of our beloved superhero, however, he now plays a war veteran facing many challenges after coming home in the movie “Cherry”. The Russo brothers, who are currently working on this film, have been hoping to come back to Cleveland for a while as the city is their hometown and they have subsequently shot there for some of their other films, one including “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” in 2013. As they now return in 2019, they use the area of Shaker Heights to tell the story of a man coming back from war who is forced to deal with the opioid crisis and other heartbreaking difficulties. The movie is based off of a novel by Nico Walker which is a story mainly on his own life, and will be rated R as it deals with difficult themes and triggering elements. In the story, a veteran comes home from war and suffers from PTSD and develops an opioid addiction. These situations also lead him to commit acts of theft and rob banks. The story is one that deeply touched the Russos, and due to its powerful message, they have decided to tell this impactful tale. The movie will be out in theaters in 2020.
