I remember the times of our past,

Breathing in fresh air and a clear sky.

Back when you still cared for me,

And the birds would fly.

But plastic bottles line the streets,

Polluted everywhere with debris.

Gas and chemicals suffocating me,

Squeezing my throat so that I can’t breathe.

Why are you

Inside of me?

Trees are falling

Glaciers are melting,

The world is warming,

Why are you

Inside of me?

The plants have withered and died,

The animals have failed to survive.

Yet you continue

To cut down trees.

Why are you

Inside of me?

I remember the times of the past,

When you still cared for me,

And cherished each one of my creations.

I am the wind that shall shake the leaves.

Why are you

Inside of me?
