Starbucks cake pops… everyone loves them! Except for their price… 3 dollars each! In this article, we give you a delicious, affordable alternative to these delicious treats.
Ingredients:
1 box of chocolate cake mix (Duncan Hines)
1 Cream Cheese Frosting can (Duncan Hines)
1 Bag of real milk chocolate circles
Sticks
Sprinkles of any kind (optional)
Twisties and Wraps (optional)
Directions:
First, bake the cake with all the ingredients needed in the cake mix. Let it cool, or put the cake in the refrigerator to speed up the process. Once cooled, crumble the cake with your hands. Then toss it in the mixer and mix it with a can of cream cheese frosting until all is mixed and moist. Then, get a cookie sheet and roll the mixture into tiny balls the size of a cake pop. Put these in the refrigerator for an hour and a half until nice and hard. While the cake pops are hardening, start to heat up the milk chocolate – first in a microwave, then over a heat source to keep it melted. Take a stick and slightly twirl it in the chocolate. As this hardens, it creates a strong foundation so that the cake doesn’t fall off of the stick. Put the cake on the stick. Take a spoon and drizzle the melted chocolate over the cake pop on the stick. Put this in a place where it can stand upright. If you want to add sprinkles, do this while the chocolate isn’t hard. When your cake pops have dried, wrap them in the plastics wraps and tie them up with a twistie. Ready to go! Enjoy (:
