Birthdays are kind of a big deal. Presents, cake, and all sorts of celebrations mark them as special days. But have you ever wondered what the most common birthday is? Well, I have, and this week, I found out!
According to Time Magazine, in the U.S.A., most people are born in September. The most common day was September 12th. However, we do not interact with the entire country every day. Instead, we do interact with the Upper School daily, so I set my sights to find the most common birthday in the Upper School.
To do this, I sent out a survey (thank you to everyone who responded!). I received 181 responses. Out of these responses, 48 seniors, 21 juniors, 44 sophomores, and 68 freshmen responded, and with the data I had, I was able to determine that the most common birthday in the Upper School is October 5, with 4 students with the birthday. However, the average birthday(that is, the date that I came across when I averaged the numbers) was July 12.
