HB students are always in tune with the best and latest trends. Sometimes, however, they make their own, slightly more … interesting… trends. Keep reading to find out some things we only do here at HB!
#1: Swells

Is there a reason we buy $40 water bottles? Do they look nicer? Does the water stay cooler? Honestly, there’s nothing wrong with a cool waterbottle, but does it really have to cost $40?
#2: Athleta bags

I guess there’s been a huge influx of HB students buying apparel from Athleta! There’s been so many more of these bags around campus lately. This is definitely one of those things that only HB students do!
#3: Birks (and socks)

I know Birks are a trend, but why the socks? It’s not even cold outside yet! Even if it was, we could just wear boots, right?
#4: Scrunchies

Although I’ve seen velvet and silk scrunchies, the only place I’ve seen these plastic ones is at HB! They’re supposed to make putting hair up hurt less, right? I guess these could be helpful to avoid a huge headache by the time that 6thperiod math test rolls around!
#5: Fjall Raven Kanken Backpack

This trend I simply don’t understand. HB is probably one of the most academically rigorous schools around. So why do its students carry around matchbox-sized backpacks? There definitely isn’t enough room in there for all the books in that picture!
# 6: Lululemon skirts

These are definitely cute on the golf/ tennis court! Unlike the backpacks, these are actually useful during after-school sports… I guess HB girls just love them so much they want to wear them 24/7?
#7: Whale stickers

Do people just buy these because of the Vineyard Vines brand? I’m sure we could print a pink whale at the idea lab (for much less than $4 a piece!) Even if you buy one, what’s the need to spend even more money and cover your entire laptop?

These water bottles are pretty cool, but going back to the S’wells, why are they so expensive?
All of these trends are… different… In my opinion, there are definitely some that should be kept, and some that should be ditched!
