While the 2018-2019 school year has only begun, being a part of the upper school is still new to the class of 2022. Here is what is new for returning and new students in the 9th grade.

New Student:
Q: How is this year different than last year?
A: This year, I have a lot of free periods, which is very nice compared last year where I had to go to a class every hour. I also have a lot more freedom such as having the ability to have my phone, and being able to type and use my computer at all.
Q: What are your favorite classes so far?
A: So far, my favorite classes are math and HB singers.
Q: How many times have you gotten lost?
A: Once, I went the wrong way and ended up on the math side downstairs, and I needed to be upstairs in the Atrium.
Q: How are the teachers?
A: I love all the teachers! They are so nice and easy to ask questions.
Q: How much homework have you had?
A: I have actually not had that much homework this year compared to last year. I have have about 1.5/2 hours every night.

Returning Student:
Q: How is this years different than last year?
A: This year, we have so much more freedom compared to last year, and we have really good teachers, and much more opportunities with clubs and centers.
Q: What are your favorite classes so far?
A: My favorite classes so far are history and biology.
Q: How many times have you gotten lost?
A: I don’t think any, maybe once or twice when I forgot the room.
Q: How are the teachers?
A: The teachers are all really nice and helpful.
Q: Have you had a lot of homework so far?
A: Yes, I have had a lot.
