I spent my time at the Young Writers and Artists festival in the comics group with John G. He taught us about his experience as an artist, and how to format comics. We had to make an autobiographical one-page comic. We made thumbnail sketches, simple story lines, and did everything in pencil before finishing the drawings and text with sharpie. I did mine about an injury I’ve had since birth, called a Brachial Plexus Injury. I wrote about how this has affected my life long-term. We received art supplies and a sketchbook to take home after the camp ended. I got to socialize with members of other grades as well as one of my own friends.
