Sally Senior Answers Your Questions

By. Sally Senior… duh

Q: Did you work on senior work days?

A: Yes! Senior work days are a perfect time to fit in some last minute college visits or work on essays and applications. While you may think this is just a 5 day weekend for seniors, most of us are very busy getting work done for college! I personally visited 3 colleges and finished my common application so it was a very productive and informative 3 days and really didn’t feel like a vacation at all. I would recommend using your senior work days to actually do work because you can get swamped very easily and very quickly during the rest of the month.

Q: What is the worst and best grade of highschool?

A: No year of highschool is the worst! Each year definitely comes with its own set of challenges. As you get older and move through the upper school, more is definitely added to your plate. However, even if you think you aren’t, you are well equipped to handle this! Each year was wonderful in its own way. I liked freshman year because it was probably the peak of my motivation and also allowed me to try a plethora of new things. Sophomore year, I was more settled in to the high school experience and really delved into those hobbies and activities I got to try freshman year. Junior year, I started thinking about where my HB education would take me in the real world, with academics getting increasingly harder and the college process looming. Senior year so far has been one of the most reflective and formative years. I’ve had a lot of time to really think about what I want to do with my life aside from college and delve into courses that I truly enjoy since I’m done with my science and history requirements. Every year is unique in its own way.

Q: What would you change about the lunch room?

A: This is a loaded question! I think there definitely needs to be a more orderly way to get food. Possibly different grades going down at different times or some type of system that makes the lines shorter and less time consuming. As well, music fridays should happen more frequently. Other than that I think being aware of your surroundings by being conscious of the food you are taking, where you are walking, and what you are throwing away or composting would make things much more efficient and easier on the dining hall staff.
