5 Tips to Prepare you for a Long Night of Homework
by Tara Capers
We’ve all had those nights during the week when we’ve got so much homework that it seems unreal. To make matters worse with all the activities we are involved in, we often times can’t start it until late in the night. Here are five tips that will help you get in the mode to get your work done on a late night:
1) Know what you need to do, and how long it will take you.
Doing this will give you a clear mindset of what needs to be done so that you won’t waste time figuring it out later. It also helps you think about what can be done later.
2) Look at your schedule for the next day.
Looking at your schedule may add more to your list of things to do, but it will help you see if you can save things to do for the next day, which will help you get to bed earlier. Doing this will also prevent you from wasting the time you have doing homework for a class you don’t even have the next day.
3) Turn off your phone. Completely.
We all know that our phones will completely distract us from doing our work if they are accessible, so do yourself a favor by completely turning it off. Even though you may think it’s torture now, it will benefit you in the future.
4) Find a calm and quiet spot.
You are most likely to get distracted if you try to do your work at a noisy spot. Finding a place like the library, where it’s quiet, can help you relax and focus on your work.
5) Drink tea or coffee.
This is my personal favorite. Having a warm drink can calm you down if you’re stressed out, and it can give you some energy if it’s caffeinated.
