We get it, we know what you’re thinking: But isn’t 2016 over and dead?

Well, dear readers, that is a matter of opinion. And to us, self-proclaimed meme aficionados, it’s never too late to look back in retrospect (get it?) and do a brief review of all the memes that made 2016 not entirely bad. Without further ado, here is our official presentation of the best – and worst – memes of last year.

Meanwhile, the future of memes in 2017 is looking bright already because of salt bae, cash me outside how bow dah, the wwii weapons memes, and alternative facts.
