The Leaving by Tara Altebrando: Book Review

by Ally Baig

Eleven years ago, six kindergarteners went missing after a school shooting.  Most people in their small town have moved on, until five of them return with almost no memories of where they had been.  Some are satisfied with letting the past go and moving on, but two of the victims are intent on solving the myster.  This story captivates the reader with clues – from a novel about a cult that almost fits their story to a mysterious tattoo on one character’s hip – that may tell Scarlett and Lucas, the main characters, where they have been.  But the real mystery of the story is that the five don’t remember Max, the sixth vidtim.  His sister Avery is determined to find her brother and find out what really happened.  I would recommend this book to anyone who loves science fiction and mystery.
