Here I Am by Johnathan Safran Foer

by Cassandra Lis

Johnathan Safran Foer is a Jewish author who wrote both Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close and Everything is Illuminated which are both fiction works with historical elements. Both of these works have been made into movies, but he has also written more novels that did not receive as much attention. These include Tree of Codes, Eating Animals, and A Convergence of Birds. Both Tree of Codes and A Convergence of Birds are harder to find because only 5,000 copies were printed of these books. The price tag on these books is pretty high as well.

Here I Am follows a family in Washington, D.C. during an earthquake in the Middle East. This novel is supposed to be his best work because it describes the bonds of family. I’m excited for his new book and can’t wait to read it. This novel is released September 6, 2016.
