There’s now less time to wait as the Heinen’s in downtown Cleveland will be opening its doors a month ahead of schedule on February 25th. Heinen’s is located in a historic building on the corner of East Ninth Street and Euclid Avenue. The building, with its iconic rotunda, is not just the home of a food store, but also a sight to see as well. Although a new store now houses itself inside the building, its architecture has not been affected. Instead, the architecture has been enhanced with modern touches while also maintaining traditional finishes. This will be Heinen’s 18th store in North East Ohio and its 22nd store overall. As stated in an article on cleveland.com “The newest Heinen’s at THE 9 development aims to be the kind of venue where people linger: To shop with a glass of wine, to catch up with friends over drinks or to sip coffee while staring up at the signature rotunda.” The store will be a little different than traditional Heinen’s stores. As a result of its 27,000 square feet of area, there will be shorter and narrower aisles. Due to this lack of area, it will also have more frequent deliveries from Warrensville Heights warehouses and kitchens in addition to having its extra inventory will be stored above or beneath shelves. In comparison to its traditional suburban stores, this Heinen’s will be about 1/3 size-wise. So next time you are looking for a fun place to go downtown where you can grab a snack, look no further than Heinen’s. It is sure to be a shopping experience you will not forget.
